Nothing interests me anymore
I am pathetically apathetic
I just wanna party and have fun
I see news of war and destruction on TV but I don’t care
I change the channel to watch the Jersey Shore.
Oh Miss Snooki, it’s a sure thing my eyes will be glazed to the TV screen.
Keep me drugged, keep me happy
Ignorance is Bliss, oh! I love it
I’m in Apathetic City,
where the malls overflow with clothes made by kiddies in sweatshops
the food courts filled with vegetables plucked out by exploited workers.
Everything smells so good, people look so fine, the sun so bright
I’m here in Apathetic City
and I’m gonna have fun
I’m pathetically apathetic,
Keep me drugged, keep me happy
Don’t tell me how bad your life is,
I don’t give a fuck, lol
I wanna have fun and lie in the sun
I don’t wanna hear about no hungry kids starvin’ while their mommies ‘n’ daddies overwork to death in shitty jobs
Your problems don’t affect me, so shut up.
I’m rich, I’m middle class, I’m working class,
I’m trying to live my life and I just wanna get by
I’m in Apathetic City and I wanna party
Boys, drugs, sex,
Beach, fashion, rock ‘n’ roll,
Reality TV, celebrities, tabloids
Ipod, Ipad, Iphone, I got it all
Apathetic City, a city of palm trees and sparkling sandy beaches
We are pathetically apathetic
We’re here to have fun and party
Shut up and don’t cry
Shhh baby we’re here now
Don’t tell me about your shitty life
Or your chaotic third world nations
Or your abusive foster homes in the system
Or your schools rotting away in the city
